- Abstract
- The main aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge about the concept of motivation in the context of foreign language learning and teaching and to be able to apply this knowledge in teaching practice.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- identify and summarize the main characteristics of selected theories of motivation;
- write a self-reflective essay on what motivated/motivates them to learn German (and possibly other foreign languages);
- describe the factors (both internal and external) that influence foreign language learning processes;
- identify and develop motivating types of tasks with regard to a specific target group;
- apply the knowledge gained to teaching practice. - Key topics

- Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning.
