Course objectives
The aim is to equip students with basic knowledge of pedagogical-psychological assessment as a discipline. It seeks to purposefully engage in a child's personality, abilities, knowledge, skills, needs and specificities based on the findings supported the development of the personality of each child. It provides arguments for individualisation and differentiation in the educational process.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- identify the child's knowledge, needs and traits;
- describe the diagnostic process;
- use diagnostic methods effectively;
- evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of available standardized diagnostic tools;
- explain errors in diagnosis;
- Apply knowledge from the diagnostic process to the planning and implementation of educational work;
- propose a support plan;
Syllabus
  • 1. Pedagogical and psychological assessment as a discipline, its concept, goals, objectives. 2. Analysis of basic methods of pedagogical assessment, their use in diagnostic activities kindergarten teacher. 3. Assessment peer group. 4. School readiness assessment. Assessment assumptions of reading and writing, specific learning disabilities. 5. Assessment developmental specifics of preschool children (0-8 years). 6. Assessment process. The teacher's role in assessment activities, possible errors and distortions. 7. Assessment educational achievements and learning outcomes at the end of the preschool period. 8. Cooperation between school and counselling centers. 9. Interpretation of reports from counselling centers. 10. Support system for children with special educational needs. 11. Creating portfolios children. 12. Teacher self assessment.
