- The seminar corresponds to the conception of the bachelor study programme - Geography with a focus on education. It deals mainly with incorporating the content of the particular geographic disciplines contained in Bc. Study (physical geography, human geogrpahy, environmental geography etc.) into the current curriculum of primary and secondary schools in Czechia.

- Course objectives
- The course aims to convey the didactic and disciplinary pillars of teaching competence to students and, with the help of the pillars, to build the foundation of didactics geography for primary and secondary schools.
In the subject, we will focus on summarizing professional geographical knowledge from the bachelor's degree, which will subsequently serve as background (materials and schemes) for the creation of teaching preparations in subsequent semesters of master's studies. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the semester, the student will:
- name the specifics of geography as a subject;
- characterize the inclusion of geography in the curriculum of primary (secondary) school.
- describe various models of curriculum development at individual school levels.
- evaluate how the curriculum of individual geographical disciplines is implemented in relation to the expected outcomes in the curriculum of primary and secondary schools.
- characterize the form of geography in textbooks for primary (secondary) schools.
- characterize the essence of geographical thinking in education.
- characterize and present the types of learning tasks developing geographical thinking and its progression. - Syllabus
- Students work with their own materials acquired during their studies, recommended professional publications, mind maps, curriculum documents (FEP) and selected textbooks.

- Analysis of recommended materials and documents (will be specified in the seminars).
Individual, pair, and group work with professional information sources.
Presentation of individual/pair/group work results at seminar. - Assessment methods
- Completion of assigned weekly assignments by the specified deadline, timely submission and presentation of semester results, including their approval by the subject teacher.
The subject concludes with an oral exam based on the application of the knowledge and skills acquired during the semester to a given geographical topic. - Language of instruction
