Course objectives
Latine for historians The pronunciation, the basic grammar and syntax of this language. The art of a translation from Latine into Czech. A translation of a short historical source (to the ancient Roman or old Czech history).
Syllabus
  • 1. Latin and the development of european civilisation.
  • 2. The right pronunciation of Latin words.
  • 3. Flexion of substantivs.
  • 4. Flexion of verbs.
  • 5. The most important irregular verbs.
  • 6. Flexion of adjectivs; ťhe creation and comparison of adverbs; pronomina, numeralia, using of some Latin prepositions.
  • 6. Gerundivum and gerundium.
  • 7. The basic syntax of Latin clauses.
  • 8) Translation of some historical sources to the Antiquity and Czech history.
