Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to understand and to apply the information in education of people with multiple handicap; to learn the information of education of visually impaired, physically and mentally handicapped
Syllabus
  • 1. Frame educational programme for primary schools (part I + II) 2. Therapy and special needs education (occupational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, animal therapy – canis-therapy, hipo-therapy) 3. Personal assistance in the daily life of people with multiple disabilities¨ 4. Disordered communication of children with cerebral palsy 5. Disordered communication of children with mental handicap 6. Disordered communication of children with visual impairment 7. Communication of people with visual impairment (Braill alphabet – Czech set of Braill alphabet, Braill code, tools and equipment, teaching children Braill alphabet specifics of teaching people with multiple disability) 8. Characteristics of people with mental handicap + visual impairment – specifics of teaching, institutional education. 9. Visual impairment as a part of multiple handicaps. 10. Specifics of teaching process of pupils with visual impairment, specifics of education, conditions, pur-blindness, blind pupils and specifics of teaching pupils with visual impairment, educational system. 11. Methods of active teaching by Lilli Nielsen. 12. Communication of people with severe disability. 13. Support of communication (orofacial communication, tactile stimulus, stimulation of pre – speech period, first words), alternative and augmentative communication – AAK (choosing AAK system, pictures, photos, pictograms, Makaton, VOKS). 14. Diagnostics of school mature and pre-school teaching of child with special needs 15. Aspects of socialisation of people with health impairment 16. The quality of life, specific needs and services for adults with impairment 17. Family and child with disability 18. Impairment as a difficult lie situation – solving techniques 19. Special pedagogical diagnostic of pupils with visual impairment and severe disability. 20. Characteristics of people with PAS 21. Specifics of education, institutional education, counselling. 22. Comprehensive special pedagogical diagnostics of people with PAS 23. Special pedagogical diagnostic of individual with severe disability and multiple disability. 24. Facilitation and techniques of facilitation (Vojta´s method, Bobath concept, ORT, SRT, etc.)
