- Abstract
- The aim of the course is to increase students' awareness of the knowledge of reform approaches and alternative schools. They will become acquainted with the reform movement, the aims and principles of the current alternative schools (e.g. Montessori, Forest Nursery, Waldorf School, Reggio Emilia).
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course student should be able to: understand and explain concepts of alternative school, educational alternative, progressive school ect.;
use the information concerning of the alternative schools for understanding of the modern tendencies in education;
make reasoned decisions about interpretation of teaching in the context of alternative didactical procedures;
interpret pedagogical, psychological and philosophical basis of the most significant historical and contemporary alternative and progressive concepts of teaching; - Key topics
- Historical rous of the alternative schools in reformation systems.
- Core and principles of alternative schools (Montessori, Fosest clubs, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia).
- To form the teacher´s interpretation of teaching and inspiration in the alternative conceptions.
