Course objectives
The subject provides students with basic orientation in conceptual issues of education and training in the current school system of the Czech Republic and equips them with knowledge and skills of class management.
Objective of the course:
1. familiarize with basic conceptual documents and basic school legislation;
2. become acquainted with the rights and duties of a class teacher;
3. Through active participation in teaching, analysis of authentic examples of practice, cooperation and discussion, equip students with the knowledge and skills to plan, manage, evaluate and evaluate the class;
4. lead students to self-reflection of their teaching concept and career development in relation to the needs of classroom development.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: student:
• Defines school and class management, specifies the teacher's managerial skills;
• List basic school legislation;
• Provide examples of compulsory school documentation;
• Design a classroom arrangement for pupils' teaching and describe its benefits and risks;
, • develops a strategy for the development of the selected class (link to continuous practice);
• describe the structure of the thematic plan and the way it works;
• Provide examples of class rules, social cohesion activities;
• defining measures for recruiting new pupils;
• knows which institutions to address when addressing specific problems at school;
• knows the rights and responsibilities of parents and their obligations towards them;
• Apply in practice the knowledge of differentiation in teaching in common education.
Syllabus
  • Unit 1:
  • School and class management - terminological delimitation; Managerial competencies. Governance and Management of Education. Trends in education in the European Union and the world. Educational policy of the Czech Republic. Education development strategies and programs. Curricular documents in our education system.
  • Unit 2:
  • European projects aimed at developing education and promoting European strategies. Financing education, education and schools in the Czech Republic (in the context of the EU and other countries). Evaluation of school systems. Compulsory documentation of the school.
  • Unit 3:
  • Basic School Legislation: School Act No. 561/2004 on Preschool, Primary, Secondary, Higher Vocational and Other Education, as amended, and its Amendment No. 82/2015 Coll. Act No. 563/2004 Coll., On Teaching Staff and its Amendment No. 197/2014 Coll. Decree No. 256/2012 Coll., Which amends Decree No. 48/2005 Coll., On basic education and certain requirements for the fulfillment of compulsory school attendance, Decree No. 147/2011 Coll., Amending Decree No. 73 / 2005 Coll., On Education of Children, Students and Students with Special Educational Needs and Children, Students and Students of Extremely Gifted, No. 116/2011 Coll.   • Unit 4:
  • Teacher competence as a class manager, class teacher role. School education program and educational goals. Basis for class planning: school context: school documentation - SEP, timetable and possibilities of its adaptation; Scheduled events for schools and projects, school trips, excursions. Teaching planning: Context class: starting point, realization, class development strategy; Tem. Plans, their creation. Conditions and resources for learning.
  • Unit 5:
  • Common learning, knowledge of support measures for joint learning. Individualisation and differentiation in teaching, support measures. IVP, Supporting and Educational Plan. Class problems and their solutions.
  • Unit 6:
  • Collaboration of class teacher with experts (psychologist, preventive, environmental worker, educational counselor, police, OSSZ, SPC ...). Collaboration of Class Teacher with Parents. The strengths and weaknesses of the teacher, his concept of teaching, the reflection of the results in practice.

The student will prepare seminar work in the extent of min. 5 pages to be the subject of the colloquium: A) its concept of teaching, its strengths and weaknesses B) for the selected class, it will propose a strategic plan for its development in the structure: class characteristics, class development strategies; Evaluation of the measure.
