Abstract
The goal of the course is to acquaint students with the following topics: characteristics of disorders of intellectual development; etiology, classification and characteristics in ICD-11; Down syndrome; education system, prevention, inclusion, couselling.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, student will be able to: - understand and explain disorders of intellectual development; - use the information about the system of education; - submit a reasoned decision about placement of pupils into the education, and interpret knowledge about Down syndrome.

Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
warp: The course ends with exam. Criterion evaluation will be determined in advance. Specific requirements (participation, submission of assignments, active participation in classes, test) and their share in the evaluation will be specified in the interactive curriculum in IS. Their weighting in the assessment will be specified in the interactive study materials in the Information System (IS) by 14 August 2026. Attendance of at least 80% is required for full-time students. In justified cases, the lecturer decides on the possibility of an alternative form of compensation for missed classes exceeding the specified limit. For part-time (combined-mode) students, attendance is recommended.
Alternate completion
The possibility of alternative completion/fulfilment is available upon agreement with the course instructor, according to the semester schedule from the beginning of the semester.
