Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to help students master methods of literary studies and offer them an insight into the principles of the literary science. The output of the seminar is a written assignment: a critical essay of about 10 pages. Students focus on an analysis of a piece of contemporary prose of their own choice. First they present their analysis orally in the seminar, at the end of the term they hand in a written assignment.

  • 1. Literatura. Vymezení úkolu: seminární práce. Zásady literárněvědné práce.
  • 2. Poetika prozaického textu. Architektonika, kompozice.
  • 3. Motivický rozbor prozaického textu.
  • 4. Analýza prozaického textu. Poetika románu J. Kratochvila.
  • 5.-15. Referáty: poetika prozaického textu po r. 1945. Diskuse a komentáře.
