Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to master German pronunciation with focus on the methodology of avoiding the typical pronunciation mistakes of Czech native speakers. Work with texts from the phonetic point of view is stressed.
Syllabus
  • 1. Methodology of avoiding the typical pronunciation mistakes of Czech native speakers 2. Pronunciation and grammar 3. Text from the phonetic point of view 4. Texts convenient for pronunciation practice 5. New materials for teaching German pronunciation 6. IPA practice 7. IPA practice direct dictated texts 8. Term paper (transcribed text with comments) Seminar, oral exam: Oral exam: The students are supposed to master German pronunciation, as well as the methodology of avoiding the typical pronunciation mistakes of Czech native speakers. The students read a text and comment it from the phonetic point of view. Phonetic transcription IPA.

Assessment methods
Seminar, oral exam. The students are supposed to master German pronunciation, as well as the methodology of avoiding the typical pronunciation mistakes of Czech native speaker. The students read a German text and comment it from the phonetic point of view. Knowledge of the phonetic transcription IPA. The students show their own phonetic wordbook.
