Abstract
At the end of the course students will understand the basic mathematical concepts and theoretical basis which is needed to understand the concept of natural numbers. They should be able to explain how pupils at primary school are contacted with natural numbers and should be able to solve application tasks.
Key topics
Basic concepts of propositional logic and set theory; binary relations, mapping between sets. Binary algebraic operations and their properties. Cardinal number, operations with cardinal numbers. Natural numbers, the introduction and basic properties. Operations with natural numbers. Natural numbers at primary school. Solving problems.
