Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to acquire the basic terminology and gain information about the issue of multiple handicap, definitions, classifications, possibilities of education and support. At the end of the course the students should be able to understand and interprete knowledges about the education and support of pupils wtih profound disabilities.
Syllabus
  • basic terminology to the issue of multiple handicap and severe disabilities
  • definitions, etiology, classifications of severe disabilities
  • possibilities of education of pupils with severe disabilities (legislation, schools, educational programms)
  • possibilities of support of pupils and individuals with severe disabilities (legislation, specific aspects of support)
  • cerebral palsy
  • communication od individuals with severe disabilities
  • concept of basic (perception) stimulation
  • snoezelen
  • canistherapy, hipotherapy
