Course objectives
The aim of the course is to obtain a general overview of the basic diagnostic and therapeutic methods and instrumentation, which are in various medical fields used.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to the field "Medical Instrumentation", the human body as a source of information.
  • 2. Diagnostic methods and diagnostic techniques - Electro methods.
  • 3. Methods for the use of ionizing radiation.
  • 4. Imaging diagnostic methods - ultrasound display mechanism.
  • 5. X-ray imaging methods.
  • 6. Computer tomography, using magnetic resonance imaging.
  • 7. Therapeutic methods and therapeutic equipment - ultrasound therapy, electro methods pacemakers, defibrillators.
  • 8. Biophysics foundations of non-invasive treatments - the principles of magnetic field treatment and ionizing radiation.
  • 9. Biophysical effects of invasive treatments - ultrasound surgery, laser applications.
  • 10. Medical laboratory technology - gas analyzers.
  • 11. Measurement of blood.
  • 12. Injection dosing and infusion pumps, biochemical laboratories.
