Course objectives
The student applies his or her theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained by studying the subjects - the contemporary Czech Language I up to Contemporary Czech Language V. He or she learns to know the structure of the text, he or she is oriented at the rules structuring the text into partial text units, he or she recognizes the function of the units at lower language levels in the context with their position in the speech and text. He or she is able to understand the weaknesses of the text and the syntactic structure written and spoken expressions. He or she can explain the most common deviations from the formative/morphologic codification and their causes. He or she performs proofreading of grammar and spelling errors in the text.
Syllabus
  • 1. Text and language communication. Structure of the text, text units. Introduction in the terminology of the textual analysis. 2. Spoken and written texts. Description and interpretation of them. 3. Analysis of the written texts. Composition of the written texts. The most frequent mistakes in the text composition. 4. Syntactical structure of the sentence. Some irregularities in the structure of the sentence. Ellipsis. Separated elements of the sentence. 5. Some mistakes in the syntactical structure of the written texts and in the spoken texts (repetition, filling words, defective syntactical structure). 6. Lexical units in the text and in the sentence. Stylistic markers of the lexical units. Bad functional using of the lexical units with the stylistic markers. 7. Morphological analysis of the texts. The most frequent morphological deviation compare to the codification. Correction of the grammatical and orthographic mistakes. 8. Completed linguistic analysis of the texts. Analysis of the morphological, lexical and syntactical mistakes. Stylistic problems in the text structure.

Teaching methods
The teaching methods based on the operations of thought, analysis and synthesis are mainly applied in teaching. Methods of practicing and consolidation of the subject matter, problem method, the method of individual work and teamwork.
Assessment methods
