Course objectives
The students shall deal with the texts of various style spheres during this lessons. There is presupposed that:
1. Students are able to apply knowledge of the contemporary Czech language (phonetics, phonology, morphology, word structure, syntax, stylistics) to the analysis of scientific texts, texts of the literature
2. Students are able to choose suitable text for the analysis of chosen language phenomena;
3. Students are able to work with texts of the textbooks for primary school.
Syllabus
  • 1. Complex text analysis.
  • 2. Language idioms and expressions in the syntactical structures.
  • 3. Compound sentence. Combined sentence.
  • 4. Word cathegories and their function in sentence.
  • 5. Lexical items in text, semantic characteristics and semantic relations among lexical units (in the vocabulary).
  • 6. Morphological phenomena in the text. Adequate grammatical and word-forming forms of words.
  • 7. Word-forming analysis and analysis of the word-structure.
  • 8. Orthographical problems and some problems of correct pronounciation in the text.

- Textual analysis: collective and individual working
Controlled dialogue accompanied collective work - textual analysis.
- Discussion on special problems of textual analysis.
- Individual testing.

Ending: Credit
Credit requirements: Written exam including theme of syllabus;
The written exam includes 30 elementary questions, to be succesfull students have to answer 20 of that questions correctly.
