Course objectives
The aim of the course is to inform students about the possibilities of continuing professional development and equip them with competences necessary for the management of their own continuing development after graduation.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to: - identify stages in their own professional development; - apply the principles of reflective teaching practice; - make informed choices about the options offered to in-service teachers and benefit from them; - design and implement action research in their own teaching practice; - demonstrate their knowledge and awareness of current issues in ELT in class discussions.

  • The course focuses on the issues of professional development of teachers. Syllabus: 1. Stages in the teacher development (novice teacher, experienced teacher, expert teacher) 2. Reflective teaching practice 3. Professional development: options to choose from (conferences, associations AMATE, IATEFL, professional networks, courses, seminars, webinars of CPD) 4. Action research as a tool for profesional development 5. Current issues in ELT

Seminar. Course requirements: 80% attendance (or a written test), active participation, all assignements as set, seminar work presentation, contributions in mood-link-a discussion forums, essay.
