Course objectives
After successful completion of this course the student will -be familiar with basic terminology related to the field of alternative and augmentative communication -be able to communicate by using Pictograms, PECS system -become knowledgeable about basic of Sign in the speech. -be able to choose suitable form of alternative and augmentative communication for person with communication disorder
Syllabus
  • Communication – verbal, nonvebral. Communication process Alternative and augmentative communication Static systems, dynamic systems. Selection and application of AAK. Basic character inventory of Makaton and Symbol in the speech.

Seminar, discussion, presentations by professionals, practical exercises
Assessment methods
The student will receive credit for: - processing and presentation of the project - AAC aid - written test (it is necessary to successfully cope with 75% correct answers). Other requirements will be communicated at the beginning of the course.
