Course objectives
On the seminary the students train the analysis of the words based on the knowledge that they have reached on the lecture and from the literature. Fundamental terminology of word forming, system of the word forming and the structure of this system. Methods of the word forming, derivation, composition, abbreviation. Derivation of the substantives, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. Composition of the substantives and adjectives. Abbreviation. The students shall be able to analyse the word using special algorithm (including utterance by the special muster), to recognise the position of the word in the system of word forming and the productivity.
Learning outcomes
Student knows basic word-forming concepts, word-formation system and its arrangement, basic word-forming methods and procedures, derivation of nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs; composition of nouns and adjectives; shortening; marginal ways of creating words. Students have the ability to analyse the word based on a specified algorithm (including formula expression), determine its inclusion into the word-making system, and assess productivity.

Word-forming development tendencies form the position of onomastic methods in contemporary vocabulary. 6. The relation between word formation and morphology 7. Teaching methods
Active analytical students´ work in the analysis of Czech texts, active synthetic students´ work in the interpretation of linguistic phenomena, discussion about the professional course issues.
Assessment methods
For a successful completion of the course, the students should complete a written test. The test is scored. Students must obtain at least 80 % of all points possible to get in the test. It is also necessary to present the group work at the seminar, and to submit the written preparation for teaching at primary school: minimum one lesson (45 minutes). Details will be specified at the seminar indeed.
