Course objectives
At the end of this course students should be able to: - compare and evaluate individual theories from the history of ethical thinking - make reasoned decisions about specific moral problems
Syllabus
A1)Introduction to the ethics. 2) The importance of moral rules in the life of an individum and society as whole. 3) Herakleitos, sophist s doubt. 4) Demokritos and Epikuros. 5)Plato as theoretist of totalitarism. 6) Aristoteles - the meaning of freedom. 7) Stoicism- problem of fatalism. 8) The beginnings of christianity. 9)Machiavelli and the philosophy of history. 10) Hobbes. 11) Protestant ethics and the beginning of capitalism. 12) J. J. Rousseau- private ownership as the cause of social evil 13) I. Kant.
