Course objectives
This course is related to courses Russian Morphology 2 (RJ1004) and Practice of Russian Morphology 2 (RJ1023). Students deal with the morphological system of language practice (a set of exercises, language analysis of individual grammar).
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- define selected parts of speech (numbers, verbs and other parts of speech);
- determine the grammatical category of selected parts of speech (numbers, verbs, participles, prepositions, conjunctions and other);
- identify basic grammatical characteristic of numbers, verbs, participles;
- inflect numbers, verbs and participles;
- conduct comparative linguistic analysis;
- correctly use numbers, verbs, participles and other parts of speech in written and oral expression.
Syllabus
  • 1. Cardinal numbers, collective numbers, ordinal numbers.
  • 2. Indefinite numbers, numerical expressions.
  • 3. Part-of-speech characteristic of verbs. Infinitive and finite verb forms.
  • 4. Morphological categories of verbs: the person, the number, the tense, the mood.
  • 5. Verbs of 1st and 2nd conjugation.
  • 6. Verbal aspect. Formation of aspectual pairs.
  • 7. The mood. The imperative/conditional mood.
  • 8. Finite verb forms: participles (prichastiya, deeprichastiya). Morfological categories of participles.
  • 9. Adverb and predicate. Part-of-speech characteristic of adverbs and predicates. Comparison of adverb.
  • 10. Prepositions. Russian prepositions in comparison to Czech.
  • 11. Conjunction. Particle. Interjection.
  • 12. Summary, revision.
