Course objectives
In the second semester, the subject is focused on musical semiosis and semantic analysis of program works. Particular attention is paid to fuzzy semiotics.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the the musical semiotics from the pragmatic point of view of including methodological applications in music education.
Syllabus
  • Basic musical semiotic issues (the definition of music, the boundaries of music and extra-music, metacharacters in music - presentation, representation).
  • Exemplification of procedures in the music - semiosis.
  • Music semiosis as a social psychological process.
  • Stratification of music semiosis.
  • Problems of semantical analysis of the programme compositions.
  • Fuzzy semiotics
