Course objectives
The aim of the course is firstly to provide students with the opportunity to prepare and consult with the lecturer and other students of the tasks assigned to the reflected practice. After completing the didactic practice (in the range of 12 hours), they will provide a reflection and self-reflection of their own pedagogical practice in the subject Reflected Practice for Didactics of Music (Music Education) and to help them enhance/deepen their reflective and self-reflective skills in relation to their teaching practice.
Learning outcomes
After completing the subject/seminar, the student will:
a) better understand the essential aspects of pedagogical situations and issues that have been discussed in seminars – with regard to the course of discussions in seminars it can, for example, revise her/his attitude towards motivating children or solving various educational problems;
b) be able to use reflection and self-reflection as a tool of professional learning – for example, s/he should be able to identify the connection between the self-regulation of own feelings and self-learning in the classroom and pupils’ learning outcomes.
Syllabus
  • Individual and also group work with reflective notes from practice.
  • Acquisition of reflection and self-reflection as a tool of professional learning with regard to the general pedagogical and psychological aspect of the teacher’s work.
  • Didactic practice is in the range of 12 hours: 4 hours are devoted to planning and subsequent reflection of didactic practice within the seminar group. Students will be present to 2 sitting in on classes in the range of 4 hours in two designated kindergartens (children's choir and the recorder lesson). The remaining 4 hours are intended for the preparation and implementation of musical educational activities in the selected kindergarten.

Teaching methods
Various forms of group discussions; working with reflective notes and professional portfolio for Music.
Assessment methods
Credit requirements: Active participation in seminars (minimum 80 % attendance); continuous task completion and their submission in agreed deadlines (comments on practical reflections and professional portfolio for Music).
Students will choose one of the proposed activities (a selection of vocal, musical-kinaesthetic, rhythmic and rhythmic-motion, instrumental, perceptual activities – aural/auditory, perceptual activities - listening and elementary creative activities). They will prepare a detailed preparation for the selected activity, which will first be consulted with the lecturer and in agreement with the trainee teacher and in accordance with the ŠVP of the kindergarten, selected and prepared activities will be carried out in teaching practice. Then the students will elaborate in writing the self-reflection, and add the reflection of their colleague and the evaluation of the trainee teacher, which they will submit within a set deadline. Submitted reflected notes and self-reflections will be discussed/reflected with the lecturer and other students within seminars.
