Course objectives
Students acquaint with key topics from the social sciences curriculum from the didactic point of view.
Learning outcomes
At the end a student will be able to:

  • identify problem items in the social science curriculum, be aware of a contintuity and connetions to other subjects;
  • diagnose adequately pupil´s knowledge and skills;
  • asses criticaly various didactic materials;
  • use a regional and other didactic principles.

    • Syllabus 1. Conception of the geography part of the educational area Man and his world in the curriculum 2. Learning tasks in the homeland studies part of the educational area Man and his world 3. Textbooks, didactic aids and materials, misconcepts, 4. Teaching work with the map 5. Teaching regions of the Czech Republic and Europe 6.Chronology, history around us 7. History of the 20th century in education 8. Locally anchored learning: possibilities of field teaching in local history 9. Fieldwork - laws, textbooks, materials

    Students design, realize and reflect a lesson based on the social sciences curriculum which is professional, well designed, uses various teaching methods and forms.
