- Course objectives
- The course Theory of Literature for Teachers deals with the poetics of poetic, prose and dramatic texts. It shows participants in the Lifelong Learning Programme the different ways of interpreting a literary text, taking into account different methodologies.
- Learning outcomes
- Participants will be able to: interpret literary works and defend and support their views with literary scientific knowledge. The goal of the course is to assist program participants in learning the methods of literary scholarship and the principles of literary scholarship.
- Syllabus
- Block 1: Course concept and basic literature of the course. Methods of literary studies. Block 2: Composition: interpretive analyses of the prose text. Possibilities of interpretation of a prose text. Block 3: Interpretation of poems. Semantic modelling of the text. Block 4: Drama as a literary work. The main and secondary text of drama. Block 5: Methods of contemporary literary scholarship and interpretation. Literary currents, literary trends and interpretations.
