Abstract
The course aims to deepen the knowledge of the Czech culture, traditions, gastronomy and current affairs. Key aspects of social and political development and some historical issues will be involved as well. Interesting destinations for trips in the Czech Republic will be recommended.
Essential and frequent Czech expressions and phrases will be mentioned.
Learning outcomes

  1. Demonstrates basic orientation in information about the Czech Republic, the city of Brno, and the environment of Masaryk University.


  2. Describes selected aspects of Czech culture, traditions, gastronomy, and everyday life.


  3. Recognizes basic cultural and historical contexts related to Czech history and literature.


  4. Identifies notable figures of Czech society, culture, science, or history.


  5. Develops awareness of important places and destinations in the Czech Republic.


  6. Reflects on personal experience with the Czech cultural environment in the context of international study.


  7. Develops intercultural understanding through exposure to Czech language and culture.
