Abstract
The subject provides the students the chance to acquire abilities to assess professional literature. The students shall be able to write a review of the professionall books that can be public in the professional journal.
Learning outcomes
After finshing the course students:
(a) are able to write a professional text in standard Czech;
(b) know the norm of standard Czech and are able to apply them when writing texts;
(c)are able to assess professional texts critical when using suitable arguments;
(d)are able to write critical (professional) review.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Individual study of the professional literature, individual writing of an essay. Individual tutoring.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements

Students can gain a credit after giving up an essay - critical review of some professional literature. The essay/review has to be original text of 3 pages. The essay/review should respect norms of the professional styles, it has to be written in the standard Czech.

The interactive syllabus (see Study Guide) includes, for illustrative purposes, reviews from academic journals as well as reviews from successful graduates of the course in previous years.
