Abstract
What is the role of the Ministry of Culture, what is the Arts Council and why does it not work in our country? Why do we need to know cultural policy and how does it affect working conditions in the book trade? Which institutions do I need to know and will they help me? A lecture series on whether editing, proofreading or cultural journalism can be done for a living, what are decent fees and who sets them. Entry to professional associations after this course is guaranteed.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- identify key institutions and organisations within the literary service;
- analyze their functioning and draw implications for the market and book production;
- understand current legislation and strategic documents (Law 203, national cultural policy, etc.);
- understand the principles of cultural diplomacy and cultural export.
