Course objectives
The course is dealing with everyday's life of baroque human and especially with theatricality of this era. It illustrates, that theatre is not just a building, in which it is performed. Theatrical elements surrounded baroque human everyday and were present in every aspect of his/her action.

The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the course student will be able to:
- define baroque epoch and it's specifics;
- analyse liturgic and folk rituals;
- describe and define baroque performativity;
- compare baroque performativity with performativity of other eras.
Syllabus
  • 1. Theoretical introduction - baroque and it's performativity
  • 2. Performativity of liturgic events - Christmas, Easter, The passion festival, The Feast of Corpus Christi etc.
  • 3. Performativity of folk festivals
  • 4. Ordinal schools and confraternities - performativity of school events
  • 5. Everyday's theatricality - baroque human and his/her normal life
