Course objectives
The course is dealing with the forms and changes of Italian Commedia dell'Arte, acting with the mask and concept of a drama character inspired by masks in the chosen periods of Europian theatre. The course defines specific forms of acting influenced by Commedia dell’Arte through the video-records of European and Czech performances (Antonio Fava, Giorgio Strehler, Jacques Lecoq, Divadlo na provázku, Hubert Krejčí).

The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the course student will be able to:
- define periods of history of Commedia dell’Arte;
- define its influences on European theatre culture from the 16th century up today (Italian Commedia dell’Arte, its French branch, inspiring influence in the period of modernism and avant-garde, and contemporary conceptions of acting with the mask);
- prove knowledge of the most important performances of commedia dell'Arte throught 20th century.
