Course objectives
The course takes the form of lectures by guests whose profession directly affects the Czech audiovisual segment. In the lecture, each guest will present his area of expertise, whether it is the development and production of audiovisual works, their distribution and exhibition, the organization of a film festival or, for example, the organization and operation of institutions within audiovisual industry.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be familiar with the Czech audiovisual industry environment, have an idea of its internal operation, its specificity towards foreign practice or its position in the context of current audiovisual practice (with emphasis on Europe). The student will be acquainted with the basic characteristics of the creative industries.
Syllabus
  • The lectures are divided into three loosely defined blocks, each block is united by the effort to answer the following questions:
  • 1) What are audiovisual works?
  • - development and production of AV works, the role of the producer in the current AV industry, the consequences of the migration of AV content etc.
  • 2) Where are the audiovisual works?
  • - distribution, presentation, festivals
  • 3) How do audiovisual works exist?
  • - institutional patronage of cultural industries in the Czech Republic and Europe
