Practical Italian III and IV. Only students of the program of Italian Language and Literature of URJL MU can enrol for the course.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to to develop linguistic skills and learn the grammar and the vocabulary at a level close to the C1 level of language. Exit competence according to CEFR: towards C1.
Learning outcomes
The student will learn to handle the several levels of language, with particular reference to syntax, both in its theoretical and practical features, above all connected to the linguistic use and variation. The student will also learn to summarize the information coming from different sources, to develop critical sense, to communicate effectively.
Syllabus
Key lexical areas: character and steretypes; words about criminality; animals, environment and energy; cinema and cinematography. Idiomatic expressions. Key grammar areas: coordination of tenses in the indicative, subjunctive and conditional moods, indirect speech, passive, coordinative and subordinative conjuctions. Programme activities, i.e., lectures that are common to the whole programme, are also to be included in the course content. On these occasions, other activities (including regular classes) will be suspended. Activities already on the calendar: - 30.09 (all day, room 343) and 01.10 (morning, dean's meeting room, to be confirmed) Conference "Developing new languages in migration contexts - 13 October 16:00-18:00 and Tuesday 14 October 16:00-18:00 (dean's meeting room), prof. Matteo Di Figlia (University of Palermo), Seminars on ‘Il fascismo italiano: 1919-1943’ (Teaching materials will be provided prior to the seminars) The full calendar of activities will be communicated at the beginning of the semester.

Frontal lessons. We will use the Units 9, 11 and 12 from volume II "L'italiano all'università : corso di lingua per studenti stranieri. Roma: Edilingua, 2013. You can find the course materials in IS and at the library.
Assessment methods
Written test. The students who don't attend the courses have to set an alternative syllabus with the teacher.
