Course objectives
A lecture, a discussion and maybe even a stand-up in one that will give you an insight into how books are priced and who gets the biggest cut of the  penny  of readers. Spoiler alert: it's not the author, translator, or publisher. During the course you will find the answer to the question of whether what you read is chosen by you. And if not, who is choosing it for you? The secrets of book traffic clearly and without scruples.
Learning outcomes
What will you know after this course? 1. you'll recognize a good book among tons of poor quality ones, 2. you'll know who's who in the book business, 3. you won't be a stranger to (now arcane) abbreviations and words like rebate, DPC, VOC, commission, or break, 4. you'll be able to figure out how to promote the book you're going to publish well, 5. you'll learn why to have a good bookseller and avoid parasitic e-shops
