Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
Course objectives
Croatian language course focusing on practicing of grammar, translation exercises, with stress on practical language.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to conversate on topics of adequate comlexity, interpret phrazeologisms, recognise the stylistic value of a text or speech, understands spoken language without difficulty.
Syllabus
  • Interpretation of short stories by contemporary Croatian authors, analysis of topical articles from Croatian press, conversation on various topics, translation from Czech to Croatian.

Teaching methods
Seminar (two hours per week), home preparation, essays, translations from Czech to Croatian, in the seminar a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities will be employed.
Assessment methods
Regular attendance, homework and home preparation required. Students must hand in a series of essays and four pages of translation from Croatian to Czech and to pass a final test.
