Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to attend an excursion organized for educational purposes. This short-term excursion is primarily focused on presentation of temporary exhibitions and current cultural events that are related to topics within the scope of the classical archaeology studies.
Master's students in classical archaeology actively participate in the organization of excursions. After the excursion students have to make a report about the visited exhibitions or cultural events in the form of a review.
The partial goal of the excursion is to give the students an idea of one of their career options after graduation.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, student will be able to:
- have an in-depth knowledge of the material culture and issues presented within the scope of visited exhibitions
- describe, characterize and critically evaluate the visited exhibitions or cultural events in the form of a review
- understand the principles of visual presentation in the field of Classical Archaeology
- answer the questions related to the exhibited issues
- participate in organisation and logistic support of the excursion
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic heuristics for the current excursion
  • 2. Attendance at the excursion primarily focused on current exhibitions and cultural events related to the issues of classical archaeology
  • 3. Elaboration of a review evaluating the visited exhibition or event

Practical training in the form of an excursion, individual study activities, elaboration of a critical review evaluating the visited exhibitions or cultural events

Requirements for a successful completion of the course: active participation in preparation and organisation of the excursion + submission of a review evaluating the visited exhibitions or cultural events
