Course objectives (in Czech)
The Inner Asian borderlands are a geographical region where people of different ethnicities and cultures coexist. The aim of the seminar is to examine the transgenerational interactions between significant cultural agents of Inner Asia throughout history.
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
After completing the course, the students will be able to define (a) “Inner Asia”, (b) “borderland(s)”, (c) “ethnic minorities/indigenous people” as well as "natives" and "newcomers" …. , and to identify the shared historical cultural heritage of the various peoples.
Teaching methods (in Czech)
Online - Lecture, class discussions, homework, presentations by students. Reading material will be provided on MS Teams.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Requirements for the colloquium: (a) active participation in the seminar (such as involvement in discussions), (b) homework based on selected literature, (c) presentation on a selected topic.
