Prerequisites
NOW ( KSCA651 Chinese for Mgr. program I )
- The course is offered exclusively to the students of the Chinese Department of Masaryk University.
- Exceptions could be made if an Erasmus student has Chinese Studies as their major at their home university and if the student can present documented proof. Language proficiency certificates (HSK/TOCFL) are NOT accepted.

Course objectives
To help students familiarize themselves with contents already instructed in Practical Chinese for Mgr. program 1. Enrollment is strongly recommended.
Students will conduct dialogue exercises and interviews under the guidance of teaching assistants in conjunction with the class content of KSCA651
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, students should be able to:
【Listening】
- understand paragraph-length utterances pertaining to a wide range of topics relating to daily and academic life.
【Speaking】
- sustain a conversation in coherent paragraphs;
- handle a wide range of tasks;
- narrate, describe, compare and contrast.
【Writing】
- handle written Chinese.
Syllabus
  • This course uses HSK 5 Part 1, following the order of the textbook's lessons.
  • Students need to interview people and writeitinto articles based on the textbook theme. Excellent articles will be published in student magazine.

Assessment methods
1) Attendance (up to 2 unexcused absences are allowed in one semester). In case of 3 or more unexcused absences, the student fails.
2) In order for an absence to be excused, students must notify the teacher in advance or within 24 hours after the class. If there is an official document (e.g., a medical certificate), students should submit a formal request to study Department of the Faculty.
3) The student needs to fulfill all the tasks given by the teacher (assignments, interviews, etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence.
4) Students must not switch study groups, unless the teacher explicitly approved.
