- Course objectives
- The course represents instructional science as one of the basic educational sciences. During the course the students learn the main topics that are the subjects of instructional research and are currently a main issues of teacher practice at elementary and secondary schools. The last part of the course is focused on the analysis and curriculum design of school educational programs.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be able to:
- summarize the specifics of the educational reform and curricular reform in the Czech Republic
- describe factors influencing the quality and effectiveness of education / teaching
- present the results of the latest international surveys (PISA? TIMSS) in which the Czech Republic is involved
- analyze the selected school education program
- propose modifications to an choosing school education program in line with content/curriculum theories, in accordance with the preferred model of teaching and competence-based approach in the formal education - Syllabus
- 1. Trends in didactic thinking from the end of 18th century to the end 20th century.
- 2. Educational reform and curriculum reform in the CZ, priorities of the national educational policy
- 3. Teaching at primary and secondary education as a subject of research, models of teaching
- 4. Systemic theory of education and a model of systemic teaching
- 5. Constructivist theory of learning and constructivist teaching
- 6. Other learning theories and their use in teaching
- 7. Competence in education and competence-based approach in the formal education
- 8. Curriculum and content-centred education approach in the formal education
- 9. Projecting of educational goals and curriculum designe in the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and the Framework Educational Programme for general upper secondary school on the school level
