The subject is intended primarily for master's students or second/third year undergraduate students. A prerequisite for entry (also applies to Erasmus students!) is a good knowledge of Polish and Czech, as we will be working with texts in both languages. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to teach students to express themselves accurately and adequately in Polish about basic Czech geographical, historical, cultural and political realities with a focus on practical use (guiding, preparation of information and promotional materials , teaching Czech life and institutions to Poles, etc.). Authentic texts from the field of tourism will be used in the course so that the students gain a deeper insight into their content, form and style.

- Learning outcomes:
- the student has a basic knowledge of Czech cultural institutions and a basic orientation in contemporary Czech life;
- the student will acquire a general knowledge of intercultural communication oriented toward application in translation practice, work in cultural institutions and the media;
- a basic knowledge of Polish/Czech terminology;
- ability to independently and critically handle texts in Polish that deal with Czech realities;
- ability to prepare a presentation on a selected topic related to realist issues. - Syllabus
