- Course objectives
- The course is taught in Modern Greek. The main aims of the course are: developing basic communicative abilities in Modern Greek, practice of topics dealt with in Modern Greek Grammar III (lessons 18-28 of the Basics of Modern Greek, CEFR A2-B1). Students also acquire actual information about contemporary Greek life and institutions.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students (on the level CEFR A2-B1) will be able to:
actively use the acquired vocabulary while communicating in contemporary Modern Greek; understand simple coherent speech concerning the discussed topics; understand adapted (simplified) Modern Greek texts concerning the discussed topics; write shorter texts in Modern Greek concerning the discussed topics. - Syllabus
- Conversation topics: Education system in Greece, scholarships at Greek Universities, the Olympic Games, geography of Greece, the sea, Greek islands, social relations, baptism, Prague, Cyprus.
- Orthography practice, independent writing practice. E-learning - grammar and vocabulary tests.
