Teaching methods
Lectures, practice, homework, translation of sentences from Latin and into Latin, syntactic analysis of complex sentences, discussion about means used to achieve speaker's communicative goals.
Assessment methods
Assessment of the course consists of grammar tests written during the semester and a final exam. Class attendance is obligatory, students can be absent five times without providing a justification.

Midterm tests
Midterm grammar tests are written during the semester, and participation in them is mandatory. Successful completion of the tests means that the student has achieved at least 75% success in all tests together. In addition, midterm tests on verb conjugations are written in IS. The requirement is to achieve a 75% pass rate in all tests together. If a student passes both types of tests, they will receive a bonus of 12 points, which will be added to the result of the grammar test in the exam.

Exam
The exam is written. In it, students demonstrate their practical and theoretical knowledge of the Latin grammar covered so far. They demonstrate their knowledge of morphological forms, including exceptions, which they study independently from F. Novotný's Basic Latin Grammar (see recommended reading), and their knowledge of the syntactic structures covered. The test includes the translation of forms and sentences from Latin and into Latin, as well as tasks testing the ability to analyze Latin sentences.
The test involves identifying and explaining grammatical phenomena in a short text, for which a dictionary will be provided. This may also include translation and/or questions to test comprehension of the text.
The pass rate for the exam is at least 70%, with grades awarded on a scale from 70% to 100%.
