Course objectives
The goal of the Bachelor diploma seminar is to assist the student in completing the Bachelor diploma thesis and prepare for its successful defence. The thesis addresses a scholarly issue at a level appropriate to the Bachelor's degree.
Learning outcomes
The student must demonstrate the ability to
- work independently in keeping with academic standards;
- understand the relevant scholarly literature;
- analyze the issue under study;
- write a coherent text that meets the standards of academic writing;
- present his/her results in the Seminar.
Syllabus
  • The course consists of individual consultations with the thesis supervisor, depending on the specific demands of the degree program and thesis´ topic, and participation at the Thesis Seminar of the Department of Classical Studies. The seminar consists of (1st–13th week):
  • - presentations of individual chapters and a work-in-progress of the diploma thesis;
  • - discussion and feedback for individual students.

Teaching methods
Individual advisor-student tutorial in the methodology of writing the Bachelor's diploma thesis and the progress of the student. Presentation of the work-in-progress in the Thesis Seminar. Discussion on presentations of other students.
Assessment methods
The advisor awards the course-unit credit for the semester on the basis of examination of particular parts of diploma-thesis and students ability to work out the advisors comments on it.
