Course objectives
The course is focused on the improvement of students’ skills in the perception of literary text as a complicated set of meanings that far exceeded seemingly elementary message based on the “content” of the text. The interpretation will be presented as the ability to perceive content and formal impulses of the work and as the personal way to a message of the literary text.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will be able:
- to understand a lot of possible ways of the literary work interpretation
- to characterize the possible ways of the literary work interpretation
- to work with concrete literary texts and to use the possible ways of the literary work interpretation
- to interpret the concrete literary texts selected by themselves and by the lecturer

  • The basic scheme of the course:
  • 1. the possible aspects in the attitude towards a literary work 2. interpretation of a literary work as a theoretic discipline and its development
  • 3. literary work and the experience of the recipient
  • 4. literary work as a vehicle of values
