Course objectives
Students will learn to write formal (official and business) emails and letters, will master their structure and current vocabulary of formal correspondence in Russian.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to write formally and linguistically correct formal emails and letters in Russian;
- to adequately translate the Russian formal correspondence into Czech.

  • Structure of a formal letter and email.
  • Differences between Czech and Russian formal correspondence.
  • Official letters.
  • Announcement. Invitation. Request. Acknowledgement.
  • Demand note. Confirmation.
  • Accompanying letter.
  • Business letters.
  • Business demand and response. Business offer and reply. Order and response.
  • Warranty claim and response.
  • Warranty.
