Course objectives
Analytical lecture which aims at a reconstruciton of personal oeuvre of the anonymous artist. Concentrates on formal analysis and the relationship between its results and historical data.
Syllabus
  • 1. Character of the individual artworks attributed to the anonymous master, his workshop and his circle according to the present state of knowledge.
  • 2. Their stylistic analysis.
  • 3. Reconstruction of stylistic genesis.
  • 4. Confrontation with historical data (Hussite wars).
  • 5. Hypothesis on the form of sculpture in Prague in the first decades of the 15th century.
  • 6. Setting of the individual scuptures in the historical context and suggestion of their new dating.
