- Seminář předpokládá zájem o estetiku raného středověku vyjádřenou v textech patristické tradice. Převažující metodou je výklad společně čteného textu. Znalost latiny není nezbytná.

- St. Augustine was not only a theologian. He contributed to Aesthetics, Philosophy of Language, Ethics, Rhetorics and many other disciplins. His texts will be closely read and scrutinized in seminars without duplicating the general overview by Karel Svoboda: L'Esthétique de Saint Augustin et ses sources, Brno-Paris 1933. Readings: CONFESSIONES, extracts, DE MAGISTRO, DE ORDINE.
