The course is intended to introduce main genres and paradigmes of scholarly interest in arts. It focuses on elementary concepts and methodological problems of art and cultural studies.

Assessment methods
Students are expected to read the the literature related to particular topics of lectures during the semester. The students are required to submit a written essay in the form of a scholarly review of a foreign language book on art or cultural studies. There is a written test at the end of the course.
