- Course objectives
- Latin literature of the Czech Middle Ages from its beginnings (10th century) to the end of the Middle Ages (to the times of Iohannes Hus). Main objectives of the course can be summarized as follows: to present individual genres of the Latin Bohemian literature; to point out its connections with the development of the Latin literature in Europe, as well as with the contemporary Old Czech literature; to explicate influences of the classical tradition on medieval literature. The course is divided into two parts. At the end of its second part, students should be familiar with history of medieval Latin literature in Bohemia to the end of 14th century.

- 5. Question of the so-called protohumanism.
- 6. Sermons.
- 7. Entertainment literature. Exempla. Books of travels.
- 8. Secular poetry.
- 9. Sacred lyric (hymns, sequences, tropes, cantilenas).
