- Course objectives
- The seminar will focus on the art and society relationship between 1965–2001 with special emphasis on the Central and Eastern Europe and especially on the role of Jiří Valoch, as a curator, collector, theoretician, poet and visual artist. Study of selected archive materials, reading and discussions of selected texts and analyzes of particular art pieces will introduce participants into the research topic - Brno and its connection with other cities in Central Europe in 1960s, 70s and 80s. One part of the seminar will be held in Moravian Gallery in Brno (the archive of Jiří Valoch) another part in National Gallery in Prague (Jiří Valoch collection).
