Course objectives
The objective will be to familiarize students in detail with the types of modern diplomatic ecclesiastical material which are commonly found in Czech and Moravian archives in order to correctly identify them and analyze their characteristic signs.
Syllabus
  • 1. Papal diplomatics with regard to the Czech lands (documents, bulls, supliques, motu proprio, apostolic letters, nunciature reports); 2. diplomatic material of Czech and Moravian bishops and archbishops (official books and their charters and letters, patents, visiting protocols); 3. documents of the deans and parishes in the Czech Lands (registers, confessional lists) 4. Bohemian-Moravian monasteries and the basic typology of its diplomatic material (official books, diaries and chronicles, obituaries, catalogues, documents);
