- Course objectives
- The goal of the diploma seminar is to assist the student in completing the diploma thesis and prepare for its successful defence. The diploma thesis addresses a scholarly issue at a level appropriate to the degree being pursued. In the diploma thesis the student must demonstrate the ability to work independently in keeping with academic standards, a knowledge and understanding of the relevant scholarly literature and the ability to analyze the issue under study.
- Syllabus
- The course consists of individual consultations with the thesis supervisor, depending on the specific demands of the degree program and thesis´ topic, and participation at the Thesis Seminar of the Department of Classical Studies. The seminar is organized as follows:
- Formal requirements of the diploma thesis.
- Presentation of the thesis structure and bibliography.
- Presentation of a work-in-progress of the diploma thesis.

- Further literature for the diploma thesis seminar is assigned on an individual basis based on the topic of the thesis. | (in Czech) Literatura pro diplomový seminář je předepsána individuálně podle tématu práce.
- Teaching methods
- Individual student-advisor tutorial, during which student presents and discusses the used scholarly literature and particular methodologic aproach to the solved topic. Later presenting and analysing particular chapters: methods of text-analysis, argumentation, proper conclusions-formulation. Presentation of the work-in-progress in the Thesis Seminar.

- The advisor awards the course-unit credit for the semester on the basis of examination of particular parts of diploma-thesis and students ability to work out the advisors comments on it.

Information on completion of the course: Studenti učitelství s imatrtikulací od r. 2015 volí 10 kreditů, ostatní 15 kreditů.
